Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce helps those in need
August 5, 2024
Our organization is pleased to collaborate with Helping Our Returning Neighbors.
Assisting incarcerated individuals reentering the community by providing clothing can be a valuable and meaningful way to support their successful reintegration. The Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce will be a collection site for gently used/like new clothing items from now until Aug. 30.
We have such a generous community of individuals, local businesses, and organizations who can provide gently used or like new clothing items. Helping individuals dress for success by offering business attire suitable for job interviews, work, and everyday life. Having appropriate clothing can boost their confidence and increase their chances of securing employment.
When clothing items are distributed, it creates a welcoming and non-judgmental environment. It shows empathy, respect, and understanding towards individuals who are transitioning back into society. Remember that reentry can be a complex process, and clothing assistance is just one aspect of the support needed. Items that are needed are: socks, underwear, T-shirts, tennis shoes, work boots, belts, jeans, bedding, and toiletries.
Please feel free to swing by our chamber office to provide these much-needed items. Our office is at 2702 Tamiami Trial, Port Charlotte.
