    Charlotte Sun Column – October 11, 2017

    October 10, 2017

         Networking at Noon is today at LeRoy’s Southern Kitchen and Bar in downtown Punta Gorda.  Please don’t just show up because luncheon selections have to be prepared.  Please call our office in Port Charlotte (627-2222) and see if there’s room.

         The Oct. 18 Third Wednesday Coffee is sponsored by Gator Wilderness Camp School and the Oct. 26 Business Card Exchange is hosted by the Gustitus team at Keller Williams Peace River Partners.  There are ribbon cuttings and Leadership and Junior Leadership Charlotte functions in between, so make sure you read Business Online every Monday to stay up to date on all things Chamber and our members.

         As the new Chamber year kicks off, I’d like to acknowledge and thank our 2018 Sustaining Partners:  Platinum level:  Bayfront Health Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda;

    Buffalo Graffix; Don Gasgarth’s Charlotte County Ford; Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center; Charlotte State Bank & Trust; Charlotte Sun/Sun Coast Media Group; Florida SouthWestern State College-Charlotte Campus; HARBOR STYLE Magazine; Integrity Employee Leasing; Monarch DIRECT; State Insurance Agency Brian Chapman Ins. Group; Strang, Olsen & Lynch CPA, PA; Tampa Bay Rays & Charlotte Stone Crabs; Waste Management of Charlotte County and Worksite Employee Leasing. Diamond level:  Centennial Bank; The Farr Law Firm; Fawcett Memorial Hospital; Nix & Associates Real Estate; Panther Hollow Dental Lodge; St. Andrews South Golf Club and WhitCo Insurance Agency – Alexia Martin. Emerald level:  Freedom Boat Club; Friendly Floors ; Nolan Family Insurance Agency; Port Charlotte Florist; Sandhill Healing Center; South Port Square; The Wyvern Hotel and Zaxby’s.  Thanks to the additional support from these members, the Chamber is able to promote our programs and services while giving these members extra credit and recognition throughout the year.

         I know it seems early, but it’s time to start thinking about our 39th Annual Christmas Parade on Sat., Dec. 9.  We’ll step off at noon from the Charlotte Performing Arts Center (next to Charlotte High), head north on Taylor and disband at the Event Center.  The reviewing stand will be in front of Centennial Bank.  The theme for the parade is Christmas Happiness which is a pretty open idea for decorating your float or truck and theming your performing unit.  Flyers are available in both of our offices, in the newsroom on our website or by calling 627-222.  Get creative and have some fun with your family and friends!  Ho, ho, ho!
